Obituary of David Joseph Jenkins

David Joseph "Joe" Jenkins, 69, of Pentress, WV, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at home.

He was born in Weirton, WV, on October 13, 1954, a son of the late George Thomas Jenkins and Lillie Grace (Nicholson) Jenkins.

Joe worked many years at the Morgan Shirt Factory, Flushing Shirt Factory, and for the Pennsew Company where he traveled extensively to repair commercial sewing machines.

Joe loved his family. He especially enjoyed going to races with his brother and car shows. Joe taught Sunday school classes and drove the church bus. He was a deacon and trustee at the Trinity Baptist Church in Blacksville, WV. Joe later attended the First Baptist Church in Masontown where he sang in the choir.

Joe is survived by his wife, Connie Marlene (Gibson) Jenkins; son, Justin David Jenkins, Pentress, WV; daughter, Christina Jolene Jenkins, Pentress, WV; grandchildren, Remington David-Ray Poling, Gunnar David Jenkins, Elyzabella Gracie-Jewell Poling, and Angel JoAnn Foley; and a brother, George Kenneth Jenkins, Cortland, VA; beloved niece, Robin Elizabeth and husband Larry Victor Madis; great nieces, Brittany Renee and Hailey Paige Madis.

In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by three brothers, Timothy James Jenkins, Danny Ray Jenkins, and Robert Keith Jenkins.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV, on Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bill Winston officiating. Interment will follow in the Masontown Cemetery.
