Jerry L. Field, Licensee in Charge / Funeral Director / Owner
Jerry, a licensed funeral director, embalmer and pre-need counselor, is a Preston County native and 1986 graduate of West Preston High School. He is a graduate of Fairmont State College and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Sciences. He is very active in the community and is always willing to lend a helping hand to those who are in need. Jerry enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and working on old cars, especially Pontiac firebirds. He loves taking "road trips" all over country either in the firebirds or on his Harley. Jerry resides in Masontown with his wife Jennifer. They have two children Ceara Lewis of Kingwood and Joshua Field of Cherry Point, NC.
Jennifer L. Field, Owner / Office Manager
Jennifer is a Clarksburg native and a 1989 graduate of Roosevelt-Wilson High School. She is co-owner of Field Funeral Home and Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta with her husband, Jerry. With our memorial packages, she can add a personalized element to your service, to have the most memorable and meaningful service to honor your loved one. She is a certified optician with the American Board of Opticianry. She retired after twenty five years in the optical industry. Jennifer resides in Masontown with her husband Jerry. They have two children, Ceara Lewis of Kingwood and Joshua Field of Cherry Point, NC.
Ceara D. Lewis
Ceara Lewis is the daughter of Jerry & Jennifer. She is a 2009 graduate of Preston High School. When she is not helping at the funeral home, she is employed at the Mid Atlantic Gynecologic Oncology of Mon Health in Morgantown. She and Tyler reside in Kingwood. She loves spending time and camping with her family and two pooches, Cooper and Maggie.
Sgt Joshua L. Field (USMC)
Joshua Field is the son of Jerry and Jennifer. Josh helped his dad at the funeral home while he attended Preston High School where he was student body president and battalion commander of the JROTC. He completed USMC recruit training September 4, 2015 and is currently stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC with the 2D Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion Bravo Battery. We wish him well as his continues on with his military career.
Denise Howdershelt, Receptionist/ Funeral Assistant/ Monument Design
Denise is a lifetime resident of Reedsville. She is a daughter of Helen (Garner) Born and the late Jacob Born. Denise is the mother of one son, Tanner Howdershelt. She is a 2002 graduate of Preston High School and a 2004 graduate of West Virginia Junior College with an Associate Degree in Information Technology. She is a member of the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. In her spare time she enjoys camping, completing Scouting activities, cooking and baking with her son and being with her family.
Joseph E. Field, Jr., Funeral Assistant
Joe, a lifelong resident of Preston County, retired from Monongahela Power Company's Albright Power Station on December 1, 1993, after 39 years of service. He began his career with Monongahela in 1954. He was lead stock keeper until 1984 when he was named coal operator, where in 1986 he reached the top of that job classification. He graduated from Kingwood High School in 1952. Joe and his wife, Shirley, live in Masontown.
Shirley G. Field, Office Associate
Shirley is a lifelong resident of Preston County. She is a graduate of Masontown High School in 1954 and Morgantown Business College in 1955 as a medical secretary. She worked at the Mile Ground Medical Center while attending business college. She also worked several years as bookkeeper for Mutual Mining Co. She volunteers in her church and served several years as a church clerk. Shirley and her husband, Joe, reside in Masontown.
Marvin Hileman, Funeral Assistant
Marvin Hileman was born and raised in Bruceton Mills. He worked at the West Virginia University Hospital, drove truck for several years and retired from Jen-Mar in Reedsville. Marvin resides in Arthurdale with his wife Joyce. They have one son, Marvin Ray Hileman and two grandsons, Trent Ray Hileman and Curtis Ray Hileman. In his free time Marvin enjoys helping his son on the family farm.
