Obituary of Otis Ray Miller

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Otis Ray "Pap" Miller, Sr., 88, on April 16, 2023, in Daytona Beach, Fl, after a brief illness.

 

Pap was born in Brownton, WV, on October 23, 1934, to John and Virginia Miller. He was one of 14 children.

 

He worked for Reliable Coal for many years until he retired. He loved his home state of West Virginia and spent several months out of the year there enjoying time with family and friends. He lived in Ormond Beach, FL, for the remainder of the year.

 

Anyone who knew Pap knew he loved and cherished his family more than anything in the world. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandy; his son, Ray Miller, Jr. (Marilyn); his daughters, Debbie Bishoff (Johnny), Kim Cottrell (Rick), Tonya Wilhelm (Jeff) and Sheila Priester (Eric); his grandchildren, Bryson Bishoff (Makayla), Emma Priester, EJ Priester, Anthony Favro (Jenny), David Thrasher (Andrea), Brandi Miller (Bryan), Brittany Murray, Melissa Ferguson (Dave) and Luciana Lowe (Rob); his great grandchildren, Adalynn, Logan, Ryder, Brooklyn, David, Jordan, Bryan and Wyatt. He is also survived by his brothers, Delmas Miller, Larry Miller and Jerry Miller and his sisters, Lena Buchanan and Laura Crites.

 

Pap was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Miller; his brothers, John Miller, Earl "Bud" Miller, Charles Miller, Joe Miller and Hershel Miller and sisters, Atha Goff, Delilah Cool and Hattie Hungsinger.

 

Family and friends may pay their final respects at Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV, at the viewing on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm and the funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 29, 2023, with Pastor Gary Blosser officiating. Pap will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens next to his beloved parents.
