Obituary of Delmar Harley Hagedorn

Delmar Harley Hagedorn III, 52 of Kearneysville, WV, passed away December 23, 2022, unexpectedly from complications of diabetes at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, WV. He was Born May 28, 1970, in Morgantown, WV. Delmar attended Alderson Broaddus and Shepherd College. He worked in management. He was a Jack of all trades and used his many talents to help family, friends, and his community. He often came by to fix things or lend a hand. His knowledge and first-hand experience in accommodations for individuals with disabilities was vital to the Martinsburg's Office of Catholic Charities renovation in which they installed a handicap accessible shower that would be used by homeless members of the community. He loved theater and performed in several local productions at the Apollo in Martinsburg, The Old Opera House in Charles Town and the Rude Mechanicals at Shepherd University. His favorite production was his wedding to Kathrina which was held on stage at the Apollo theater. Delmar adored his family and valued time spent with them. He was an amazing cook and baker. He enjoyed movies, trivia, and learning. He enjoyed tinkering with new ideas and projects. We will miss his entertaining stories and mellow baritone. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kathrina Greene Hagedorn and two children, Delmar Hagedorn, IV, and Reanna Hagedorn, of Kearneysville, WV. Also surviving, his father, Delmar Hagedorn, Jr, of Morgantown, WV; mother and father-in-law, Lorrie and Charlie Greene of Bradley, Ohio; a sister, Vicky Hagedorn and Albert Mays of Masontown, WV; sister-in-law, Janniene and Raymond Hubert and family of Newark, OH; brother-in-law, Eric and Stacey Greene and family of Caline, Texas and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Hannahlore Rose Hagedorn; his mother, Rosa Adams Hagedorn; sister, Lisa Hagedorn Splear, and grandparents Delmar and Myrtle Hagedorn, Cyrus and Rose Uphold. According to Delmar's wishes, cremation services were entrusted to Field Funeral Home in Masontown. A celebration of life will be held May 28, 2023, at Community Presbyterian Church in Arthurdale, WV from 4-6 pm. Condolences may be extended online to the family at www.fieldfuneralhome.com.
