Obituary of Calvin Eugene Montgomery

Calvin Eugene Montgomery, 78, of Masontown, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at home.

Calvin was born in Grafton, on March 12, 1944, a son of the late Joseph Franklin Montgomery Jr. and Dorothy Pauline (Keener) Montgomery.

He was employed by the Preston County Board of Education, as a bus driver for 30 years. He worked his family dairy farm his whole life. He was a graduate of Valley High School and attended Potomac State University. He loved spending time with his family, gardening and tending to his flowers, especially roses.

Calvin is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kathryn (Cummings) Montgomery; two daughters, Crystal Bolyard and Douglas of Reedsville and Samantha Ford and Gary Jr. of Masontown; three grandchildren, Gary Ford III, Katelyn Bolyard and Austyn Ford; a brother, Danny Montgomery and Donna of Masontown; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Shackelford of Masontown; several nieces and nephews and a special nephew, David Sebree and Holly.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Beverly Montgomery and Joseph Montgomery; a sister, Diana Sebree; a sister-in-law, Linda Montgomery and his stepmother, Dorothy "Dottie" Carrico Martin Montgomery.

Friends and family may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown for a Celebration of his Life, on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 4pm until the 7pm memorial service, with Pastor Mike Harriman officiating.
