Obituary of Doris M McNaughton

Doris M. McNaughton, 94, of Masontown, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Stonerise in Kingwood. She was born in Morgantown on April 29, 1927, a daughter of the late Percy D. and Sylvia May (Bell) Martin. Doris was a loving stepmother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Doris lived and traveled all over the United States and loved to talk about it. Her parents were original homesteaders of Arthurdale and she was a graduate from Arthurdale High School in 1945. She is survived by her step-children, Glynn and Toni McNaughton, Melanie Busch, Chris and Cindy McNaughton and Terry McNaughton; grandchildren, Mellisa and Jeff; and her nieces and nephews, Becky and Bill Shackelford, Joyce and Ed Fortney, Frances and Ralph Robinson, Cliff and JoAnn Matin, Jeannette and Bill Coy, Jane Foret, Dottie and Jim Blaney, Judy Kolibab, Vicki and Jim Behaly, Debra Hogge, Susan and Ron Martin, Jack Martin, Jerry Kelley and Tim and Gloria Martin and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard McNaughton; brothers and spouses, Clyde and Winola, Jack and Bobbie, Dale and Nancy; sisters and spouses, Bonna and Evans Kelley, Virginia and Leonard Perkins, Phila Bell and Earl Sherlock and Betty and William Westenfelder; one step-son, Michael McNaughton Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 2 pm until the 4 pm service time with her loving niece, Becky Shackelford officiating. Interment will follow in the Arthurdale Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Stonerise and WV Caring for the compassion and care that was given to Doris. Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken, the social distancing 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests, whose health allows, are to wear a mask.
