Alfred Andrew Cale, 79, of Independence, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at home with his loving wife of 37 years by his side.
He was born in Masontown, on July 11, 1941, a son of the late Herbert and Nettie (Wolfe) Cale.
Alfred was a graduate of Valley High School in Masontown and was a retired coal miner from Blacksville #1 Mine.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne (Boyce) Martin Cale; two sons, Gary Martin and wife Susan of Gladesville and David Martin and wife Becky of Independence. He is also survived by grandchildren, Travis Martin of Gladesville, Pamela Dooley and husband Shane of Morgantown, Natalie Totaro and husband Kevin of Jarrettsville, MD, Sierra King and husband Lucas of Reedsville and Dakota Sisler of Independence; great grandchildren, Carter Dooley, Keaton and Karson Totaro, Emma and Isiah Dooley and Connor King; two brothers, Bernard Cale and wife Julie and James Cale, all of Masontown; a brother-in-law, David Boyce of Grafton and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Cale; sister-in-law, Susan Cale and nephew, Bryan Cale.

Per Alfred's wishes, cremation services will be handled by Field Funeral Home in Masontown. No public visitation or services will be held at this time.
