Zion Cemetery Notes: Alma “Grace” Gamble, age 80, of Kingwood, WV, went to sleep on Friday, February 29, 2008 at Heartland of Preston County and awoke in heaven. She was born on August 8, 1927, in Masontown, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Elfie Eloda Shaffer Cale. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved singing and playing gospel and country music and her favorite hobby was piecing and quilting her quilts. She is survived by her loving husband Calvin Gamble, whom she married on November 23, 1946; one daughter, Eloda Gamble Zinn and spouse Ronnie; one granddaughter “Grandma’s little girl” Melanie, all of Kingwood, WV; one sister, Edna Thomas of Bretz, WV and a very special cousin who she helped raise, Wayne Junior Shaffer and spouse Janet of Masontown, WV. She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Edward, Darius, Herbert, Orth, Aurther, John and Byron Ray, and one sister, Ruby Wolfe. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home on Saturday, March 1, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. and on Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Mt. Zion Church with the Pastor Doug Rosier officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
