Obituary of Melvin Ray Bishop
Melvin Ray Bishop, 80, of Albright, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at Preston Memorial Hospital.
Melvin was born in Kingwood, on November 12, 1940, a son of the late Gordon A. and Lula Marie (Blosser) Bishop.
He served in the National Guard Reserves and was employed by General Motors in car assembly. He loved to watch Paranormal TV shows, sing Karoke and hang at the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Melvin is survived by two sons, Donny Ray Radabaugh and Gregory Bishop; a daughter, Melanie L Bishop; three granddaughters, Jessica M Bishop, Diane SanJulian and Allison Holt; two brothers, Douglas A Bishop and Russell R Bishop; five sisters, Rosella "Marty" Moore, Lavonne Sylvester, Beverly Croft, Shelba Fullmer and Linda King; companion, Virginia “Cookie” LaMar and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dayton A Bishop, Tracy Bishop and Gordon Bishop, Jr and three sisters, Mary Lou Hrdlicka, Patty B. Bigler and Elizabeth Wiles.
Friends and family may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 from 5 to 8pm. To honor his wishes he will then be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken, the social distancing 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests, whose health allows, are to wear a mask. For the safety of everyone, we politely ask that visitors do not linger at the funeral home after seeing the Bishop family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Field Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
