Obituary of Grace B. Weter

On the morning of Friday, April 24, 2020 Grace B. Weter "Granny Grace", 83, of Masontown went to her heavenly home. She was born in Rodamer, WV on September 8, 1936, a daughter of the late John Wayne Phillips and Sarah (Powell) Phillips. Grace was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Although she was born in Rodamer she was a resident of Masontown for more than 50 years. She was greatly loved and admired by her family and friends. Many would refer to her as ornery and a spitfire of a lady. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Calvert of Masontown and Pam Morgan and husband Steve of Sandyville, WV; two brothers, Frank Phillips and wife Ann of Terra Alta and Chuck Phillips and wife Patty of Martinsburg, WV; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Weter; two sons, Gregory and Clifford Sypolt; one step daughter, Linda Evans; one sister, Ruby Beatty; one brother, Ronald Phillips; daughter in law, Elaine Sypolt and one grandson, Gary DeWitt. Due to this unknown time with the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be a private family viewing and service at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown with Pastor Terry Hagedorn officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Kingwood. A public celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
