Dudley, age 84, of Kingwood, passed away January 23, 2007 at his residence with his family. He was born September 9, 1922 in Morgantown, a son of the late William and Grace Rogers Dudley. Ralph was retired from General Motors with 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII and was a recipient of the purple heart. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kingwood, Valley District Senior Center, and the American Legion Post # 56. He was very active in community service and enjoyed nature, especially watching and listening to song birds. He is survived by his wife Betty McMillen Dudley; one son, Ralph J. Dudley of Strongsville, OH ; one daughter and spouse, Diane and Jeffery Mayer of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, Ralph W. Dudley, Anthony Dudley, Nathan Mayer and Hannah Mayer. Ralph was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde Dudley, Howard Dudley, and Lonnie Glenn Dudley; and one sister, Mavilla Noud. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Thursday January 25, 2007 from 4 to 9 p.m. and on Friday January 26, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007 with Pastor Edward Rockwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard.
