Obituary of Dean "Geraldine" Sigley

Dean "Geraldine" Thorn Sigley, 78, of Reedsville, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Monongalia General Hospital, in Morgantown, surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with COPD. She was born Dec. 19, 1938, in Howesville, a daughter of the late Felix William and Madge Mamie (Reed) Thorn. She was a mother, grandmother and homemaker, and retired from Giant Eagle. Dean loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed painting pictures and playing on her Nook. She will be dearly missed by her family. Survivors include her husband, Randy Sigley; her children, Mike and Debbie Sisler, Mark and Debbie Wilhelm, and Brian and Katja Sisler,one step son Woody Sigley and wife Holly and her son Brandon all of Reedsville; six grandchildren and spouses, Betty Layne and Matt, Chris Sisler and Paula, Mark Wilhelm Jr. and Kim, David Sisler and Leslie, Jenny Sisler and Jared, and DeShawn Bankhead; six great-grandchildren, Levi, Emma, Alex, Mason, Randy, and Shelby; one brother, Ted Reed, of Uniontown, Pa.; and one sister-in-law, Dottie Thorn, of Tunnelton. She was also looking forward to the birth of two new great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Thorn, Hubert "Buck" Thorn, and Ralph Thorn; and one sister, Kathleen Casteel; three sisters-in-law, Hannah Thorn, Jean Reed and Phyllis Thorn; and one brother-in-law, Shedrick "Jake" Casteel. Family and friends will be received at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown 2-8 p.m. Friday, March 31,2017. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017, with the Rev. John Brosky officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
