He was born, September 30, 1926, in Friendsville, MD, a son of the late Bliss and Correy Friend DeWitt. He was a retired sergeant from the US Army. He served in WWII, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was an avid sports enthusiast that enjoyed watching football and basketball. He loved to play the lottery. He is survived by his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Field Funeral Home will provide cremation services.
