Obituary of Donald Lee Duley
Donald Lee Duley, age 72 of Kingwood was called to his heavenly home on May 28th, 2016. He left this world with his beloved wife and beautiful daughter by his side.
Born in Morgantown, on August 24th, 1943, Donnie was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Duley and Lena Ellen (Uphold) Duley. Siblings: Wilford "Willie" Duley and wife Donna of Arthurdale; Sarah "Robin Rodaheaver of Morgantown and Michelle Moats of Westover. He was preceded in death by his big brother James "Jack" Duley, survived by his wife, Rosemary of Defiance, OH and sister Louise Whetzel.
Donnie is survived by his best friend and devoted wife of 52 years, Linda Tennant Duley. Where one went, you were sure to see the other. The affection between the two was truly lovely to witness.
This union produced a daughter; Vicki Lynn Sigley and husband Gary of Reedsville. Donnie shared his love with another very special young lady, his granddaughter Gracie Lynn Sigley. Gracie loved her Poppy to the moon and back and he adored her twice as much. They were the best of pals and she will be lost without him.
Don served his country with honor as a PFC in the United States Army as a tank driver for two years. He was later employed by Matthews International as a machinist and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Masontown where he served as a High Priest.
Many knew Donnie as the "Whittler". His passion for creating art out of wood has allowed many of us to have, in our possession an item crafted by his hands. If it could created, fixed or built; the Whittler was the one to do it.
The family would like to express their sincere respect and appreciation to the staff of Hospice Care of Arthurdale. Our most heartfelt admiration to David.
Friends may call at Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Wednesday June 1st, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Service will follow immediately with Bishop Jeff Poling officiating. Interment will follow in the Arthurdale Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston VFW Honor Guard, WVANG Honor Guard, and the Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977.
