Obituary of Robert James Shahan
Robert "Robbie" James Shahan, 39, of Reedsville, passed away from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown with his family by his side. Following a long and courageous struggle after an accident in 2003, he succumbed to his most recent courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on April 5, 1976 in Warren ,OH, the son of James Shahan of Warren, OH and companion Cynde Baker and Susan Hart Shahan of Masontown.
Robbie was a loving son, brother, grandson and uncle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Most of all Robbie enjoyed spending time with his nephew Alex. He was also a fan of the Steelers. Robbie was a 1994 Graduate of Lakeview High School.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Cherity Shahan of Reedsville; nephew, Alex Shahan; paternal grandmother, Ilene Sutton Shahan of Cassville; maternal grandfather, Kenneth Glenn Hart of Masontown; many aunts, uncles and cousins and his beloved cat, Skeeter, that kept him company.
Robbie was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Vernon G. Shahan, maternal grandmother, Wanda Ruth Williams Hart and aunt, Barbara Hart Ridenour.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 4 - 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Marshall Woods officiating. Interment will follow at the Arthurdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Robbie's memory to The Skin Cancer Foundation, 149 Madison Ave. Ste. 901, New York, NY 10016.
