Obituary of Helen Dixon

Helen H. Dixon, 87, of Masontown, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Morgantown. She was born in Dilliner, PA, on August 1, 1927, a daughter of the late Cecil (Fox) and Charles Everly. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Helen worked for Morgan Shirt Factory and Preston County Light and Power. She attended the Masontown United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school. Helen is survived by a daughter, Luanne Holmes of Dayton, OH; two sons, Gary Dixon and wife Deborah of Arthurdale, WV and Larry Dixon and wife Sue of Reedsville, WV; two sisters, Lorrine Premike of Barberton, OH and June Fear of Berea, OH; six grandchildren, Coby Dixon and wife Goldie, Kevin Holmes and wife Beth, Kendra Barnett and husband Kevin, Travis Dixon and wife Talia, Erica Dixon Oliphant and husband Jason and Colton Dixon and wife Catherine; a step grandson, David Hoffman and wife Michelle; nine great grand children, Jalin Dixon, Casey Moore, Jada Dixon, Alexander Dixon, Gideon Oliphant, Hayden Barnett, Ava Holmes, Carter Holmes and Katie Holmes; seven step grandchildren, Jairus Speakman, Myranda Speakman, Ryliegh Hoffman, Molly Hoffman, Piper Slinka, Hanna Oliphant and Haley Oliphant. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lyle E. Dixon, two brothers, Charlton Everly and Herbert Everly, a sister, Rose Jenette Everly and three infant sisters, Evelyn Deloris Everly, Augusta Dale Everly and Cecelia LeAnna Everly. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 4 to 8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Goodin officiating. Interment will follow at the Masontown Cemetery.
