Obituary of Harold Gibson

Harold Lewis Gibson, 70, of Bull Run Community, Masontown passed away suddenly at his residence on Monday, March 2, 2015. He was born in Cascade, WV on February 6, 1945, a son of the late Marie J. (Taylor) and Roy L. Gibson Sr. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. Harold was a 1962 graduate of Valley High School. He retired from Francis Enterprises in 2011 with 40 years of service. His love of trucks began when he was a young truck driver and continued his entire life. Harold was an avid bowler for over 50 years and also made wooden painted quilt blocks. He loved watching the Mountaineer basketball team. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Diana C. (Clayton) Gibson; a daughter, Amy C. Gibson of Morgantown; a son, Scott L. Gibson and wife Brandi of Morgantown; a granddaughter, Shaylie B. Gibson, whom he adored;; four brothers, Roy L. Gibson Jr. and wife Sandy of Masontown, Willard R. Gibson and wife Judy of Alexandria, LA, Edward Gibson and wife Rosa of Masontown and Clyde Gibson and wife Martha of Kingwood; a sister, Betty Reid of Masontown; a sister-in-law, Betty Tenney and a brother-in-law, Frank Tenney. Harold was preceded in death by his grandparents, Logan and Ethel Taylor and Curtis and Ada Gibson. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Field Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Rev.
