Obituary of Charles Broadwater

Charles Albert Broadwater, 97, of Reedsville, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood. He was born in Avilton, MD on October 6, 1916, a son of the late James Albert Broadwater and Martha Catherine Platter Broadwater. Charles was a coal miner for 43 years for various mines. He retired from Reliable Coal Company. He enjoyed hunting and working in his garden. He is survived by three sons, Charles E. Broadwater and wife Betty, David Broadwater of Reedsville and Richard Broadwater and wife Kathy of Reedsville; 17 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Charles is preceded in death by his loving wife, Edna Maude Broadwater; one son, James Broadwater; two daughters, Mary Catherine Lyons and Evelyn Bishoff; three sisters and six brothers. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 with Pastor Clinton Adkins officiating.
