Obituary of Forest Jenkins

Forest E. Joe "Wimp" Jenkins, 87, of Masontown passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family and the Hospice care team. He was born in Masontown on May 22, 1926, a son of the late Daisy Florence (Radabaugh) and Forrest Fay Jenkins. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He retired from Consol after many years of coal mining. Joe served in the US Air Force during WWII. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife, Violet (Nicholson) Jenkins; a daughter, Debbie Smith and husband Steve of Reedsville; a son, Bruce Jenkins and wife Kathy of Albright; five grandchildren, Eric, Erin and Kerri Smith and Christopher and Emily Jenkins; a sister, Iris Shaffer and husband Richard of Kingwood and a brother, Miles Jenkins and wife Judy of Masontown. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Nicholson. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday January 29, 2014 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Michael Harriman officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made in Joe's memory to Hospice Care Corp.
