Laura B. "Polly" Williams McGinnis, 92, of Masontown, WV, began her eternal journey Friday, December 6, 2013 at Heartland of Preston County in Kingwood.

She was born in Newburg, WV on September 8, 1921, a daughter of the late Icie (Pyles) and Edwin Williams.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James M. McGinnis in 1989.

Polly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She retired from the Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, OH in 1977 after 21 years as a certified nursing assistant. She was a long time member of the Ladies Auxillary VFW Col. Rowan Post 2345 of Tunnelton and the Preston County Senior Citizens of Tunnelton and Masontown. She was honored as the Preston County Belle in 1993. She attended the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Donald McGinnis and wife Penny, of Alma, AR; two daughters, Dottie Walker of Masontown and Carolyn McGinnis of Warren, OH; a sister, Delphia Frame of Fairmont; 12 Grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, James Robert McGinnis and John Thomas McGinnis; two daughters, Mary Ellen McGinnis and Ruth Ann Christy; four brothers, Glenn Williams, Gail Williams, George Williams and Paris Williams; and four sisters, Mabel Johnson, Velma Mankins, Myrtle Greene Bradley and Lovell Pratt and a son-in-law, William Walker.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. with the Ladies Auxiliary service at 6 p.m.. Services will be held at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brian Long officiating. Burial will follow at the Shay's Chapel Cemetery in Newburg.
