Obituary of Joseph Feather

Joseph "Jud" Judson Feather, 88, of Fairmont, formerly of Masontown, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Wishing Well Assisted Living Community in Fairmont. Jud was born in Masontown on January 11, 1925, a son of the late Jacob Frank Feather and Orpha Field Feather. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jud had various occupations throughout his lifetime including working for the Cascade Power Plant, Preston County Light and Power and he owned and operated Jud's Trucking. After retiring Jud and Iris moved to Florida to pursue their love of golf. Jud was a WWII US Army Veteran who served during the Battle of the Bulge. Jud is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Iris (Goff) Feather; two daughters, Judy Ellen Freme of Fairmont and Nancy Jo Riley and husband Michael of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Benjamin Michael Riley, Mikaela Jo Canterbury, Kristopher Matthew Freme and Craig Patrick Freme; two great grandchildren, Josephine Olivia Canterbury and Carlee Jo Canterbury; one sister, Carrie Kirkendall; one brother-in-law, James Tomczewski and one sister-in-law, Arlene Feather. He was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Tomczewski; one brother, William Frank Feather and one brother-in-law, Clarence "Kirk" Kirkendall. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 4 to 8 PM. Services will be held at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Robert Baylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Masontown Cemetery.
