Obituary of Raymond Waldeck
Raymond Edward Waldeck, 75, of Dogtown Rd in Reedsville, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness.
He was born December 24, 1937, a son of the late Ross and Bernadette Cox Waldeck. Raymond was raised in a foster home by Miami Skinner whom he called Grandma.
Raymond was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He owned and operated Waldeck Funeral Home from 1987 till 2004 at which time he retired. He was a member of The Masontown Church of the Nazarene where he served on the board and helped on many construction projects, plowed snow and also played organ. He served on the PSD#2 water board. He was part owner and notary for WKMM Radio Station. Raymond loved singing, playing the organ and attending gospel concerts.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Evelyn (Cramer) Waldeck, two daughters; Pamela Kay Matthew of Tunnelton and Sheila Lynn Waldeck of Reedsville; one son, Neil Waldeck and wife Tina of Reedsville, six grandchildren; Jennifer Jennings of Thornton, Rachel Lantz of Tunnelton, Brian Matthew of Tunnelton, Samantha Otto of Terra Alta, Heather Turner of Kingwood and Emily Waldeck of Reedsville, one step grandson Bradley Johnson of Morgantown, seven great grandchildren; Gaven and Reagen Jennings, Maddox and Krew Lantz, Hannah Turner and Evan and Ryan Otto, three sisters-in-law; Pauline DeBerry, Freda Hileman and Sharon Nine and three brothers-in-law, Rex Cramer, Donald Hileman and John Nine.
In addition to his parents and foster mother he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Gertrude Waldeck Heflin; his brother, James Waldeck, two brothers-in-law, Delbert DeBerry and Glenn Cramer; one sister-in-law Joyce Cramer and several foster brothers.
A special thanks to Mark Pyles and all the nurses and workers of Hospice Care who helped during Raymond's illness.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown Monday, March 25, 2013 from 2-8 pm and Tuesday March 26, 2013 from noon until the 1pm time of service with Rev. Tim Heaney officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethlehem Cemetery.
