Obituary of Arthur Menear

Arthur Tennison (Art Sr.) Menear, 76, died Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Monongalia General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bull Run, WV, June 22, 1936, a whopping 14 lbs, the son of the late Franklin Tennison and Lillian May Spurgeon Menear. Art was a coal miner and worked for Greer Limestone Buckeye crew. He was an avid outdoorsman, creative inventor and a farmer. He is survived by three daughters; Donna Darlene Zeigler and husband Dennis, Tammy Lynne Hart and husband Keith and Sandy Kay Stull and husband Donald; a son, Arthur Tennison Menear, Jr. and wife Kimberly; two step children, Gary Pell and Amanda Pell Roby; two sisters, Betty Metheny and Susan McMillen, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grand children, 9 step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Patty) Joan Clark Menear; second wife, Roberta (Robin) Louise Belmaggio Menear; two brothers, Alfred Menear and Ralph Menear and one sister, Mary Boring. The family would like to thank the oncology unit at Mon General Hospital. The doctors and nurses are excellent. You were very special to him, from the beginning to the end, you were there for our father. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm. Services will be held at Field Funeral Home at 11 am Thursday, October 4, 2012 with Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Donations may be made in Art's memory to Mon General Hospital, Oncology Department, 1200 J.D. Anderson Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505. At Arthur's request cremations services will follow.
