Obituary of LeRoy Trickett

LeRoy Vernon Trickett, 71, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, April 30, 2012. He was born in Arthurdale, WV, on June 30, 1940, a son of the late Joseph and Myra Wilkins Trickett. He was a loving and caring person. He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt. in the Vietnam War, was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Baltimore, MD and worked for the University of Maryland in the maintenance department. He loved country music, flowers, gardening, hunting, his dog Tadpole and his friend Reese and cats, Peaches and Mighty. He is survived by his wife Victoria (Vickie) Ann Musick Trickett; a son, Michael Joseph Trickett; two adopted daughters, Kathleen Rainey and Doreen Bennett; a sister Martha Jane Tharp; a brother, Howard Jackson Trickett; three grandchildren, Robert Kohlmeier, Lindsey River and Tyler Bennett; his first wife, Ilene Hopper-Winkler; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and four special friends, Jim Price, Andy Austin, Grimm and Donald DeMastis. He was preceded in death by his second wife Connie LaMartina Trickett and three brothers; Enlo Stanley Trickett, David Harmen Trickett, and James Arthur Trickett. Friends may call the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV, Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Gladesville, WV from noon until the 1 p.m. service time with Rev. Ronald Funk officiating. Interment will follow at the Gladesville Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, WVANG Honor Guard and the Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977.
