Obituary of Asa Wiles

Asa Richard Wiles Sr., 93, of Reedsville, a WWII Veteran, passed away on Veterans Day Friday, November 11, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Tunnelton, WV on January 7, 1918, the son of the late Herbert and Mary Rebecca Taylor Wiles. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather. He was retired from Consolidated Coal Company after many years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lillian Maxine Taylor Wiles; one daughter, Ruth Marzigliano of Disputanta, VA.; three sons and spouses, Gary and Sandra Wiles of Morgantown, Asa Richard Jr. and Donna Wiles of Louisville, OH., Michael Dale and Louella Wiles of Bolivar, OH; 10 grandchildren,19 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by six sisters; Goldie Shaffer, Alice Ervin, Cozy Simmons, Freda Shaffer, Gancie Craft, Martha Taylor; infant brother, William Wiles; infant sister, Amanda Wiles; one grandchild; and one great grandchild. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday November 13, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on 1 p.m Monday November 14, 2011 with the Pastor Matthew Chapell officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Morgantown VFW Post # 548 and the Westover VFW Post # 9916. Interment will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV, on Tuesday November 15, 2011. Memorial Donations made be made to Hospice Care Corp., PO Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520.
