Obituary of Joe Turnley

Joe C. “Night Hawk” Turnley, of Reedsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009. He was born in Arthurdale, WV on September 8, 1937, the son of the late Richard and Carra Hinkston Turnley. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was retired from OSI and was Mike‘s right hand guy at Spikes Chimney Sweep. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and fixing lawnmowers and weedeaters, which earned him the nickname “The Lawnmower Man”. He is survived by his wife Ruth Rowe Turnley; four daughters, Ronda Dalton and husband Mark of Morgantown, WV, Carra Cambarare and husband Bart of Vermilion, OH, Carla Knott of Vermilion, OH, and Tonja Parker and husband Michael of Zanesville, OH; one son Travis Turnley and wife Belinda of Arthurdale, WV; one brother, Fred Turnley and wife Jean, of Arthurdale, WV; two sister in laws, Lucille Turnley and Doris Turnley; seven grandchildren, Crystal Dalton, Michael Dalton, Patrick Dalton, Bart A. Cambarare, Michael Knott, Erin Parker, and Lauren Parker, several nieces and nephews, and his dog Tiny, “the little boy“. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Turnley and Pete Turnley, a son Joey Turnley, and a nephew Richie Turnley, and one grandchild, and a dog, Jake. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home on Friday, July 24, from 4 - 9pm and on Saturday July 25 from 11am until the 1pm service with the Rev. Bob Sisler officiating. Interment will follow at the Arthurdale Cemetery. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Preston County Humane Society, 116 Brown Ave, Kingwood, WV, 26537.
