Obituary of Mary Burbridge

Mary Martinelli Burbridge, 79, of Masontown, passed away, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. She was born May 8, 1932 a daughter of the late Croce and Lasca Tate Martinelli. She was a graduate from Valley High School and Morgantown Business College. She had worked at the WVU Library, F & M Bank, Morgantown Hospital Services, and Morgantown Orthopedic for 36 years. She volunteered for Hospice Care, and enjoyed traveling, reading, and doing puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a member of St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontown. She is survived by her husband; Charles Burbridge; one daughter, Denise Wolfe and husband Dallas of Kingwood; two sons, Stephen Burbridge and wife Toni of Bruceton Mills, and Scott Burbridge and wife Cheryl of Conyers, GA.; three sisters; Martha Steele of Chicago, IL., Harriet McAllister of Coraopolis, PA., and Irene Gaskins of Mc Kees Rocks, PA; four grandchildren; Dr. Jennifer Howell and husband Dr. Stephen Howell of Morgantown, Dr. Rebecca Burbridge of Durham, NC, Mitchell Hartley of Morgantown, and Christopher Hartley of Morgantown; two great grandchildren, Adam Howell and Emma Howell; three step grandchildren, Trace Poynter and wife Alicia, Kevin Poynter and wife Jessica, and Dallas "DJ" Wolfe; one step great grandchild, Kaylee Poynter; and a special niece Maryanne Moser. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Tarantini and Viola Denton; and one brother, Giovanni Martinelli. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Monday October 3, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. with the scripture prayer service being held at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 4th, 2011 at St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontown with Fr. Arthur Bufogle as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Masontown Cemetery.
