Obituary of Edna Thomas

Edna Ruth Thomas, 84 , of Bretz passed away Wednesday December 31, 2008 at her home. She was born March 3, 1924 in Masontown, WV, a daughter of the late Charles & Elfie Shaffer Cale. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and attended the Masontown United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons and spouses, Frank and Janet Thomas of Bretz, and Gary and Faye Thomas of Jakes Run, six grandchildren & spouses, Roger and Robin Tayman, Marshall and Jenny Boyles, Nick Chickerell, Mark and Penny Thomas, Jeremy and Jana Thomas, and Luke Thomas; seven great grandchildren, Logan, Levi, Dustin, Tiffany, Tabitha, Hunter, and Joseph ( Peanut ); and two great great grandchildren, David and Hunter; several nieces and nephews; and a very special cousin whom she helped raise, Wayne Junior Shaffer and spouse Janet of Masontown, WV. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bruce Thomas on August 3, 2007, two sisters Ruby Wolfe and Grace Gamble; seven brothers Eddie Cale, Darius Cale, Herbert ( Slim ) Cale, Orth Cale, Arthur ( Dominick ) Cale, John Cale, and Byron Ray Cale, and a grandson James Robert “Bobby“ Chickerell. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Friday January 2, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday January 3, 2009 at the funeral home with the Rev.
