Obituary of Helen Soccorsi

Helen M. Huggins Soccorsi, 83, of Masontown, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Masontown on June 16, 1926, a daughter of the late Edgar Linsey Huggins and Lillian Gertrude Molisee Huggins. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontown, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the St. Zita Altar and Rosary Society, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Masontown Post 1589. She is survived by one daughter and spouse, Roxie and Donald Turner of Masontown; one son and spouse, Robert “Rick” and Karen Soccorsi of Reedsville; three grandchildren, Tracey Park and spouse Brian of Morgantown, Julie Soccorsi of Reedsville, and Travis Turner and spouse Mary Anne of Masontown; and great-grandchildren, Kylie Park, Hayden Park, Jackson Turner and Bailey Turner. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by her loving husband Harry Soccorsi in 1994, and her brothers, Harris Huggins, Harry Huggins, Hubert Huggins, Howard Huggins, Harold Huggins and Herbert Huggins. Per Helen’s request, cremation services will be provided by the Field Funeral Home in Masontown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontown, WV on Monday, August 31 at 10:00 am. with the Very Rev. Fr. Mark E. Ward, CP, VF as celebrant.
