Obituary of Norma Smith

Norma Jean Reed Smith, age 70, of Arthurdale, WV died July 14, 2009 at her daughter Penny Smith’s residence with whom she made her home. She was born December 18, 1938 in Preston County, WV, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Orpha Shaffer Reed. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She retired from Sterling Faucet after 18 years of service. She loved spending time with her family, especially when they gathered to play a game of “Trouble“. She is survived by one son, Mark Smith and companion Bonnie Simms of Tunnelton, two daughters, Penny Smith of Arthurdale, and Carolyn Shaffer and husband Larry of Independence, one brother, Richard Reed of Masontown, seven grandchildren, Tami Deal and husband Brian of Masontown, Trinia Deal and husband Tony of Bruceton Mills, Tyler Smith of Masontown, Stephen Cale of Arthurdale, Ashley Cale of Reedsville, Mark Smith Jr. of Florida, David Smith, and six great grandchildren, Jadyn and Owen Deal, Camryn Smith, Sidney Deal, Colby and Codey Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Prentice Smith, one very special son, Gary Smith who passed away in 2007, and three brothers and one sister. Norma graciously requested that her body be donated to the West Virginia Human Gift Registry. The family would like to thank Hospice Care Corp for their wonderful care.
