Foster Shaffer Viewing times: Saturday April 14, 2007 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral time: 2 p.m. Sunday April 15, 2007 at the Fist Baptist Church of Masontown Burial location: Sunset Memorial Gardens-Kingwood, WV Notes: Foster W. Shaffer, age 92, of Reedsville (Indian Rocks), went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 13, 2007, at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 1, 1915, in Bethlehem, a son of the late John C. and Clara Riggleman Shaffer. He retired from Sterling Faucet in 1977 after 26years. He was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church of Masontown. His most prized possessions were his love for his family and gardening. Foster was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by the love of his life for 67 years, Hazel M. Holmes-Shaffer, a daughter and spouse, Donna and Joe Stuchell of Reedsville, three grandchildren and spouses, Tracy and Jamie Street, Lori and Chris Baker, and Chrissy Stuchell, all of Reedsville; three great grandchildren, Marissa Street, Connor and Kristin Baker, all of Reedsville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Lonnie Shaffer; three sisters, Felicia Hartsell, Arzella Grover and Marie Mitchell; a half brother, Harold Brown; four half sisters, Pearl Hoover, Dessie Lemmon, Jessie Menear, and Laurel Fortney. Friends will be received at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Saturday, April 14, 2007 from 3 to 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Masontown at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2007 with Pastor William Winston officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Kingwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care, PO Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520.
