Obituary of Freda Riley

Freda H. Riley, 83, of Newburg, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Heartland of Preston County. She was born November 23, 1926 in Scotch Hill, WV, a daughter of the late Dorsey Earl and Maxine Evelyn Schumacher Phillips. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an Avon representative for over 20 years. Freda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Masontown, the Masontown Senior Center, and enjoyed reading and crocheting. She is survived by three daughters, Joyce O’Dell of Palestine, Karen Pratt and husband Denzil of Newburg, and Brenda Stone and husband Tom of Masontown; one son, Charles William Riley Jr. and wife Elaine of Romney; nine grandchildren, Vicki Brown, Cindy Carper, Scott Riley, Chris Riley, Valerie Pratt, Eric Stone, Terri Quinn, Brandi Stone, and Brandon Stone; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Riley Sr.; two sisters, Mildred Kozloski and Ruth Henderson; two brothers, Dorsey Earl Phillips Jr., and Arthur Phillips; and a son in law Doug O’Dell. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Wednesday September 29 from 2 -4 & 6- 9 and on Thursday, September 30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Masontown from Noon until the 1pm service with Bishop Robert Bolyard officiating.
