Zion Cemetery - Masontown Notes: Ruth Ellen Shaffer Richardson, age 70, of Kingwood, passed away Friday August 25, 2006, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born July 13, 1936 in Osage, WV, a daughter of the late George and Bessie Nell White Shaffer. Ruth was originally from Masontown, WV, but had resided in Ortonville and Ferndale, MI, before returning home to West Virginia. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid bowler and was Baptist by faith. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Paul Richardson; three sons and spouses, David Lee and Stephanie Richardson of Royal Oak, MI, Bradley Paul and Debbie Richardson of Grand Blank, MI, and Scott Glen and Jennifer Richardson of Pomeroy, OH; one sister and spouse, Flip and Burt Miner of Royal Oak, MI; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Elizabeth, Michael, Bradley Jason, Marcus, Evan, and Sean; three great-granddaughters; nephew, James Feather of Terra Alta; and brother-in-law, Donald Edwards of Reedsville. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Feathers and Mary Edwards; and three brothers, Richard, George, and Glenn Shaffer. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday August 27, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday August 28, 2006 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Lamm officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Masontown.
