Lloyd Nuce Viewing times: Wed June 6, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. & thurs June 7, 2007 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral time: 10 :30 p.m. Friday June 8, 2007 at the pleasant Grove Cemetery in Herring Burial location: Pleasant Grove Cemetery Notes: Lloyd Glenn Nuce, 86, of Masontown, WV passed away Monday, June 4th, 2007 at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, WV. Lloyd was born on April 22, 1921, the son of the late John Nelson and Jessie May Nicholson Nuce. He retired from Consolidation Coal, Arkwright Mine, and had worked at several mines both Union and Non-union. He had been a member of the Kanes Creek United Methodist Church, as well as serving the Methodist Church as a lay-minister. Earlier in his life Lloyd had served his Lord as an Elder in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Caring for the Pleasant Grove Cemetery as caretaker for about 50 years and holding different positions with the Board of Directors for the Cemetery Association was done as a labor of love. This gentle man is survived by one daughter Joy Mroz and husband Tom of Masontown, WV; three sisters: Genevieve Schleigh of Oakland, MD; Mary Stultz of Romney, WV; Pauline Taylor of Masontown, WV, and one brother, Elmer Nuce of Kingwood, WV; three grandchildren, Josie Shoemaker and husband John of Reedsville, WV, David Cumley, Jr. and wife Tara of Notasulga, Alabama, and Kristina Woodall and husband Tim of Morgantown, WV. There are currently three great-grandchildren, Garrette, Nicole, and Joni Shoemaker and another great-grandson, Jacob Cumley, is expected in August. He was preceded in death by two special ladies, his first wife Lucy Huggins Nuce and his second wife Virginia Elliott Graham Nuce. He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter Nikki Michelle Cumley, one sister, Ruby Nuce, and two brothers, Boone & Lawrence Nuce. Friends will be received at the Field Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2007 from 6 to 9 p.m. On Friday, June 8, 2007 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Herring, WV the viewing will be 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. service time with the Rev. Rotha Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
