Zion Cemetery Notes: Ruth Marie Nicholson, age 77, of Masontown died Friday April 28, 2006 at Heartland of Preston County, where she was known affectionately as “Ruthie”. She was born to the late Fay and Daisy F. Radabaugh Jenkins on June 14, 1928 in Masontown. Ruth was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked at Street’s Store and Sterling Faucet Company and, with her late husband Elmer and Miles and Judy Jenkins, co-owned and operated the Moonlite Roller Rink in Masontown. She attended the Bull Run Community Church. She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Ann Hamrick of Masontown and Linda DuPont and Bo Ward of Arthurdale; two sons, Phil Nicholson and wife Kathy Moran of Parkersburg and Ron Nicholson and special family friend Stellman Teter of Westover; two brothers and spouses, Forrest E. and Violet Jenkins, Miles and Judy Jenkins all of Masontown, one sister and husband, Iris and Richard Shaffer of Kingwood; four grandchildren, Vicki Hamrick Varner and husband Eric, Thomas Hamrick, Derek and Drew DuPont; and a great-grandchild, Shelby Varner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Elmer Nicholson on July 4, 2001. Cremation services will be provided by the Field Funeral Home in Masontown. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, April 30, 2006 from 5 - 8 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Masontown at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1299 Pineview Dr., Suite 3, Morgantown, WV 26505 or charity of your choice.
