Obituary of Joseph Lipscomb

Joseph Randolph "Randy" Lipscomb, 53, of Arthurdale, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Elkins, WV on September 30, 1957, a son of the late Joanna Carrie Barnett Lipscomb and Jennings Randolph Lipscomb of Parsons, WV. He was a 1975 graduate of Parsons High School and was employed as a service advisor at Team One in Oakland, MD. Randy enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles, camping, fishing, family and friends. He left doing what he loved best, riding his Harley with the ones he loved. In addition to his father, he is survived by his life partner Debbie Ridenour of Arthurdale; one sister, Kathy Helmick and husband Rick of Leadmine; two brothers, Jerry Lipscomb and wife Brenda of Morgantown, and Mark Lipscomb and wife Cheryl of Arthurdale; nieces and nephews; Carrie Leary of Parsons, Alan Polomski of Morgantown, and Jeremy, Jonah and Bethany of Arthurdale; great nieces and nephews, Joanne, Isaah and Alexander. He loved playing the role of "Papaw Randy" to Skyler and Sabrina McBee. He was preceded in death by his mother Joanna Lipscomb; grandparents Harry and Hazel Simmons and Ruth and Arthur Lipscomb. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Wednesday August 3, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Field Funeral Home in Masontown. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Masontown.
