Rose Kovach Nick name: Bootsie Viewing times: Sunday, November 2nd from 2pm - 8pm Funeral time: Monday, November 3rd, 3pm Burial location: Masontown Cemetary Notes: Rose “Bootsie” Sansalone Kovach, 81, of Masontown, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008, at Ruby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was born March 21, 1927, in Masontown, WV and was the daughter of the late Frank, Sr. and Angeline Sansalone. In earlier years, Bootsie worked at Sterling Faucet Company, Biafora’s and Flordora Shoppe in Morgantown. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Bootsie was a devout member of St. Zita’s Catholic Church in Masontown and was a member of the Arthurdale Federated Woman’s Club. She volunteered for Hospice Care Corporation in Arthurdale and always enjoyed the fellowship of family and friends. You could always find Bootsie and Piggy together and having fun at local events. She is survived by her daughter, Tamara A. Davis, and husband, Kevin L., and one grandson, John T. Davis, whom she adored, of Arthurdale. Also surviving are one sister, Helen “Piggy” Bjorkman and husband, Bud, of Arthurdale; one brother, Frank Sansalone, Jr. and wife, Rose Ann, of Masontown; one niece, Kim Riley, and husband, Errol, of Reedsville; one nephew, Mark Bjorkman, and wife, Bonnie, of Manassas, VA; and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Kovach, Jr. Family and friends will be received at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, November 2, 2008, from 2pm – 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontown on Monday, November 3 at 3:00pm with the Very Rev. Fr. Mark E. Ward, CP, VF as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Masontown Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Heartland of Preston County for the wonderful care they provided to Bootsie during the last few months of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Bootsie’s memory to the Aaron Riley Leukemia Fund, Clear Mountain Bank, Attn: Amelia Goldstrom, P.O.
