He was born in Newburg, WV, on July 10, 1939, a son of the late Charles Edgar and Julia Pearl Haskiell Knotts. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a retired coalminer from the Preston Energy Coal Company. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Burgoyne Knotts; two sons, Bernie Knotts of Morgantown, Chuck Knotts and wife Candy of Harman, WV; a daughter, Missy Mouser and husband Tim of Gladesville; nine grandchildren, Lindsay, Zach, Kayla, Collette and Clayson Knotts, Logan, Brooke, Miranda, and Lakin Mouser; two sisters, Catherine Conn of Manown and Betty Thompson and husband Tom of Brooksville, FL; one brother, Leonard “Dude” Knotts and wife Dorothy of Lorraine, OH and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Collin Edgar Knotts and a brother Charles Junior Knotts. Friends will be received at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, March 30, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. and Monday, March 31, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-9 pm. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Funeral Home with the Pastor Bennie Moran officiating. Interment will follow in the Shay’s Chapel Cemetery in Tunnelton.
