Obituary of Lila Kerns

Lila Ora Kerns, 90, of Arthurdale, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Windy Hill Manor in Kingwood. She was born on August 15, 1920, in Independence, the daughter of the late Dayton and Mildred Murphy Turner. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Williams and husband James of Deland, FL and Nina M. Stevens, of Arthurdale; one son, R. Gene Matthew and wife Sue of Belington, WV; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and two ex-daughters in law, Carolyn Matthew and Janet Matthew Belt. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by her husband Ruben Kerns, a son Marvin L. Matthew, a son in law LeRoy Stevens, a grandson Glendon Williams; three brothers George Turner, Denzil Turner, John Turner, and John C. Turner, whom her parents raised. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home, Masontown, WV on Saturday, May 7 from 11 am - 1 pm. Services will be held at 1 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Gary Helms officiating. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will be at the Matthew Cemetery at a future date.
