Obituary of Manny Humphrey

Manny Jinkens Humphrey, 87, of New Cumberland, WV, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born on January 21, 1922, the son of the late James Newton and Lillie Rose Tharp Humphrey. He was a WWII Veteran and a retired J&L Steel worker. Manny loved the outdoors, fishing, playing cards, and auctions. He is survived by one son, Cecil Humphrey and wife Roslie of Wilkes-Barre, PA, one daughter, Nancy Hicks and husband Douglas of Hookstown, PA, one sister, Alma (Leacie) Bohon of Crescent, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Genevieve Radabaugh Humphrey, two brothers, Clinton & Lincoln, two sisters, Bernice & Evalee, and a grandson Cecil Junior. Friends will be received at Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV, on Saturday, December 5th, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, December 6th, at 2pm with the Rev. Robert Uphold officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Masontown. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, Preston County Chapter 977 Vietnam Veterans of America, and the West Virginia Army National Guard Camp Dawson.
