Donald "Moonie" Lee Mayfield, 75, of Masontown, WV, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born in Morgantown, WV, on February 17, 1949, a son of the late Donald Dewey Molisee and Ida Mae Mayfield.

Donald served his country in the US Army and was a life member of the VFW Post 1589 in Masontown. Donald enjoyed being and working outside. He worked in construction, doing masonry and electrical work. He also enjoyed doing small engine repair in his spare time.

Donald is survived by one brother, Dewey Molisee and wife Barbara of Morgantown; one sister, Donna Lambert and husband Mark of Masontown and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Zinn; three brothers, Gary Radabaugh, Dale Molisee and Delmas Molisee; three sisters, Dorothy Murray, Marie Molisee, and Darlett "Jeanie" Bee.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 5 to 7 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 11 am with Pastor Marvin Shaffer officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County Honor Guard. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Masontown.
