Obituary of Sandra M. Shrout

Sandra M. (Riley) Shrout, 72, of Arthurdale, WV, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2024, at Kingwood Healthcare Center.

She was born in Morgantown, WV on February 19, 1952, a daughter of the late Jack and Deloris (Jenkins) Riley.

Sandra was a loving and devoted wife, mother, nana and sister.  She graduated from Valley High School in Masontown, Class of 1970. Sandra was Christian by faith and loved her Lord. She worked as a floral designer for Riley’s Floral in Masontown and then as a school cook for Covenant Christian School in Morgantown. She enjoyed birdwatching and visiting Amish country.  Sandra will be loved and missed by many.

Sandra is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Timothy Shrout Sr. of Arthurdale; one daughter, Hillary Rennie and husband Blyden of Minnesota; one son, Timothy Shrout Jr. and wife Julie of Arthurdale; four grandchildren, Nick and Eliana Mendez and Maddie and Ian Shrout; one brother, Mark Riley of Gladesville, WV; and two sisters, Michelle Riley of Martinsburg and Rhonda Simms and husband Steve of Arthurdale.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her daughter, Stacy Jo Mendez in 2014.

To honor Sandra’s wishes cremation services have been entrusted to Field Funeral Home in Masontown. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
