Sheila Kathy Abernathy, 65, of Masontown, WV, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Madison Center in Morgantown, WV.

She was born in Baltimore, MD, on May 16, 1959, a daughter of the late Buck Knotts and Ruth Yvonne (Reams) Severa.

Kathy was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She had a love for cooking, crocheting and doing crafts.

She is survived by her son, Joshua Abernathy and wife Mindy of Fort Gregg-Adams, VA; two grandchildren, Leah and Malachi Abernathy; one step grandson, Ron Knotts; her sister, Tammy Savage and husband Mark; her nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, Kathy is preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Yvonne Knotts and Christina Elizabeth Bruner.

To honor Kathy's wishes, no public services will be held at this time. Cremation services have been entrusted to Field Funeral Home in Masontown.
