Obituary of James Marion Murray Jr.

James Marion "Skip" Murray, Jr., 81, of Morgantown, WV, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. Skip was born in Morgantown, WV, on November 4, 1942, a son of the late James Marion Murray, Sr. and Virginia (Kain) Murray. Skip was the owner and operator for S&P Trucking for over 20 years. He also drove for S&W Trucking. Skip loved visiting people but the one he enjoyed visits from the most was his grand-puppy Laila. Skip is survived by his daughter, Pam Murray and fiancé, Kevin Bernoski; brother, Jerry "Jocko" Murray; sister, Shirley Dalton and grand-puppy, Laila. In addition to his parents, Skip is preceded in death by his wife, Marianna (Wells) Murray; brothers, Larry "PeeWee" Murray, Ronnie "Dopey" Murray, and Scott "Pipeline" Murray; sisters, Bonnie Friend and Sandra "Sam" Dalton. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Skip's memory to the WVU Medicine Hospice, 12 Rousch Drive, Westover, WV 26501. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers, Jocko and niece, Sherry Ritter. In honor of Skip wishes, the Field Funeral Home have been entrusted with cremation services.
