Obituary of Sylvia Ann Shahan

Sylvia "Pid" Ann (Colebank) Shahan, 87, of Newburg, WV, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024, at her daughter's home surrounded by family.

 

She was born in Marquess, WV, on April 11, 1936, a daughter of the late Hazel Elsie (Weaver) Colebank.

 

Sylvia was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She was a very selfless and giving woman. Sylvia worked at Sterling Faucet in Reedsville, WV for several years. Sylvia enjoyed gardening, cookouts and running the roads but her greatest love was her family.

 

Sylvia is survived by one son, Douglas Shahan of Newburg, WV; five daughters, Sonya Logan and husband Michael of Belmont, OH, Deborah Shahan of Independence, WV, Tracy Shahan Stuchell and husband, Kevin of Kingwood, WV, Crystal Shahan of Waynesburg, PA and Penny Humberson and husband, Larry of Bruceton Mills, WV; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; two brothers, Doyle Colebank and wife, Linda, Gene Colebank; two sisters, Helen Diaz and husband, Freddie, Sandy Lyons and husband, George.

 

In addition to her parents, Sylvia is preceded in death by five brothers, Donald, Howard, Argle, James and Leon Colebank and two sisters, Betty McGinnis and Diora Miller.

 

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV, on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 1 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Interment will be held in the Pratt Cemetery in Newburg, WV.
