Obituary of Marlyn Carol Powers

Marlyn Carol "Kay" Powers, 80, of Masontown, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born in Masontown on August 20, 1936, a daughter of the late William Vernon Garner and Ruth Pearl (Michael) Garner. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She had worked at the Colshire Pajama Factory and Street's Store. Kay was a long time member of the Masontown Baptist Church. Kay is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bernard "Skip" Powers; a daughter, Anita Meadows of Charleston; a son, Jeffery Powers of Westover; a brother, Robert Garner and wife Lynn of Windham, OH; four grandchildren, Christina Lynn Hornyak, Hilary Ann Hornyak, Kaylin Nicole Powers and Allison Michelle Powers; a niece, Charlotte Cummings and a nephew, Rick Turner. She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Jean DeWitt. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. service time with Rev.
