Obituary of Judy Kay Daft

Judy Kay Daft, 70, of Masontown passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Judy was born in Morgantown, on November 2, 1946, a daughter of the late George and Mabel Karlen Lantz. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She retired after working 15 years as a coal miner at Humphry # 7 in Mt. Morris, PA. In her younger years she worked at the Metropolitan Theater in Morgantown. She enjoyed making candles and loved to sing. She co-owned U-Star Karaoke with her son Jimmy. Judy is survived by her longtime companion and caregiver, John Saffron of Masontown; two daughters, Christine Festa of Masontown and Georgette Butler of Blanchard, LA; one son, Jimmy Daft of Masontown; one brother, Gail Lantz and wife Carol of Morgantown; stepmother, Joanne Lantz of Terra Alta; two half brothers, Frank Pinion Jr. and Sammy Pinion; one half sister, Donna Pancoast; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Kyndra J. Daft and Cynthia Shaffer; one brother, Jimmy Lantz and one sister Patty Lantz Allen. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Thursday December 8, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday December 9, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Kelly Gamble officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to help the wildfire victims of Tennessee.
