Obituary of Wilbert Lee Bolyard

Wilbert Lee Bolyard, 81, of Tunnelton, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born February 28, 1935 in Tunnelton, a son of the late Hamilton Amos and Bessie Virginia (Myers) Bolyard. After graduating from Tunnelton High School, he attended Fairmont State College and taught school in Preston County for 4 years. He then joined the WV Army National Guard and retired as a Warrant Officer CW 4 in 1995 after more than 40 years of service. While in the National Guard, he worked in Buckhannon at the USPFO and at Camp Dawson. After retiring he enjoyed helping his son Jeffrey at his business, J.B.'s Small Engine Repair in Morgantown. Wilbert was a member of the Christian Fellowship Chapel in Tunnelton, where he was the treasurer since 1979. He will be greatly missed by his church family. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Naoma Kay (Cale) Bolyard; two sons, Jeffrey Bolyard and girlfriend Tracy Killmeyer of Morgantown and Nathan Bolyard and wife Carolyn of Tunnelton; two grandsons, Greg Bolyard and wife Melissa of Morgantown and Patrick Bolyard of Morgantown; one granddaughter, Lori Haught and husband Wesley Haught of Tunnelton and seven great grandchildren , Lillian, Peyton, Bentleigh and Aubrey Bolyard and Isaac, Destiny, and Gracie Haught. He was preceded in death by his uncle Everett Myers and an aunt Josephine Myers. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Friday August 12, 2016 from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday August 13, 2016 from 12 noon until the 1 p.m. service with Pastor Burl Haddix, Tom Thorn and Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery in Tunnelton. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, WVANG Honor Guard, and the Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977.
