Obituary of Felix Tiberio

Felix "Flip" Tiberio, 86, of Masontown passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Mapleshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Morgantown. He was born in Morgantown, WV on April 9, 1929 a son of the late Genoveffa (Giuliani) and Panfilio Tiberio. Flip was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a 1947 graduate of Masontown High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He retired in 1988 from the Federal Bureau of Prisons at the Kennedy Center in Morgantown after many years of service. After his retirement he owned and operated Tiberio's restaurants in Morgantown with his wife. Flip was a longtime member of the St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontown. He is survived by his wife, Dolores "Boots" (Lawson) Tiberio, one daughter, Kelly Elder of Evans, GA; one son, David Tiberio and wife Becky of Beckley, WV; four grandchildren, Jordan Martin, Megan Harris and husband Adam, Katherine Elder and Brandon Wooldridge; one great granddaughter, Madeline Rose Harris; one brother-in-law, Louis Dupont; five nephews, Michael Tiberio, Jeff Tiberio and wife Lisa, Gary Polce, Steve Polce and David Dupont; one niece, Theresa Blosser and husband Charlie; many great nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Geno Tiberio and his wife Olive Mae and two sisters, Helen Dupont and Rose Polce and her husband Vespucci and a niece Caroyln Polce Savage. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a scripture prayer service at 7 p.m.. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Zita Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Andrew Switzer as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Masontown Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the WVARNG Honor Guard, Preston County VFW Honor Guard and the Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977.
