Obituary of Melvin Blosser

Melvin Guy Blosser,86, of Masontown, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown. He was born in Dellslow, WV on April 23, 1929, a son of the late Catherine "Kate" (McDonald) and Thorton Jacob "T.J." Blosser. Melvin was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He worked at the Cascade Coke Ovens, Bretz Coke Ovens, Shockey's Brothers Concrete and later retired from Jenmar. He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Strahin and husband James of Masontown and Kimberly Kisner and companion Anthony Brobeck of Westover; one son, Roger Blosser and wife Karen of Bretz; six step children, John Cale and wife Carolyn, Donald Cale, Rev. Larry Cale and wife Donna Gaye, David Cale, Rick Cale and wife Danelle and Ruth Ann Martin and husband John; ten grandchildren; fourteen step grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Melvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Collins Blosser; his second wife, Helen Cale-Blosser; one son, Melvin Charles Blosser; two brothers, Charles Blosser and Robert Blosser; four sisters, twins Oleda Strahin and Leoda Blosser, Viola Kiper and an infant sister, Dorothy Blosser who died at the age of 15 months. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Cale officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Masontown. Condolences may be extended online to the family at www.fieldfuneralhome.com.
